About Lana

If you’re going to say it with flowers, then there’s no better interpreter than Lana King.  Flowers have always been Lana’s passion, dating back to when she was helping her mother in the family garden, and has spent the past 25 years sharing her gift with the people of San Francisco as well as the rest of the Bay Area.  To see her flowers and arrangements bring such joy to people has been a lifelong dream and she’s never been happier.

lana3     Originally from Korea, Lana came to the United States in 1976 and immediately enrolled in school to learn how to start up her own business.  Her very fist venture, a flower shop on Beale Street in downtown San Francisco, became incredibly successful and word of Lana’s creations spread quickly.  For 20 years, the shop thrived as Lana designed the most beautiful arrangements for every occasion possible — birthdays, graduations, Mother’s Day, Valentines Day, you name it.  If you were in downtown San Francsico and needed flowers, Lana was the woman to call.

Sadly, the building owner sold to another company and the rent became too heavy a burden.  It was time to move on.  While setting up a game plan for her next venture, Lana spent the next few years helping friends set up businesses of their own.  Before she knew it, 5 years of business consulting had raced by and Lana’s calling was again prominent in her mind.  She needed to open another flower shop.  Helping friends was rewarding, but she needed to follow her dream.

In the late summer of 2007, Lana found a spot on Junipero Serra Boulevard in Daly City and the dream of her own flower shop was rekindled.  She immediately went to work, renovated the building herself, and opened the doors to Lana’s Flowers and Gifts within a few months.  While her location may be different, the results are still the same.  Lana’s work is more beautiful than ever.
